What we’ll do
Learn the basics of watercolor and printmaking as independent techniques, the playground we’ll explore together in this workshop.
Sketching a juxtaposed world – ideas and drawings to make engraved forms “speak” to one another.
Creating soft foam stamps – simplified carving using scissors and cutters.
Coloring & printing – stamping our designs with watercolor to build a unique composition or pattern.
Everyone will leave with their own original A5 piece created from their watercolor stamp prints, along with the stamps themselves and a watercolor dot card to keep experimenting at home.
Who’s it for?
The curious, beginners, and those with some experience, anyone who wants to explore the meeting point of two complementary techniques.
What’s included
All materials: soft plates, carving tools, inks, brushes, Maison Banane handmade watercolor palettes, fine art paper.
Join us to print with the forms of relief printing and paint with the poetry of watercolor!
About this collaboration
This workshop is a creative meeting point between two practices we both love: printmaking and watercolor. By bringing them together, we want to create a playful space where participants can discover how these techniques which we don’t commonly see in conversation, actually complement each other beautifully and can create some real visual magic.
For this, I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Carolina from Maison Banane, an artist and watercolorist whose work beautifully explores color, light, and fluidity, take a look below to glimpse into her world.
Maison Banane is the adventure of Carolina, an Argentine-born creator who has made Paris her creative playground.
Deeply inspired by the irreverent personality of her loyal cat, Juana Banana, she explores the world of color by making vegan, eco-friendly handmade watercolors in exclusive shades. Alongside this, she also creates illustrations and DIY kits.
