This collection of 26 small-scale monotype paintings presents memory as something extremely close but just out of reach, captured in tiny, abstract windows of movement and texture. Each piece offers a glimpse into a recollection, just enough to spark recognition or feeling, but never revealing the full picture.
The intimate scale invites the viewer to step into these windows, engaging closely with the layers of color and texture as if peering through a peephole into a moment suspended in time. These works encourage the viewer to participate in the act of remembering, filling in the abstract movements with personal associations and emotions. Through this interplay, refracted glimpses speaks to the delicate and often elusive nature of memory itself.

PROCESS & TECHNIQUES
Each piece in refracted glimpses is an extension of the ongoing exploration of memory and material that began in layers of (me)mory no. 001 and continued through layers of (me)mory no. 002. Using the same foundational painting (blended from layers of (me)mory no. 002) as a matrix, oil-based monotype prints are created by pressing paper directly into the layered, textured surface of the canvas. The contact between pigment and paper varies with each impression, resulting in unpredictable and unique images that carry the gestures and tonal shifts of the original surface.
From this specific square fragments were carefully selected and cut out as self-contained visual and emotional moments. Each square is then individually mounted within a shadowbox frame, emphasizing its singularity and inviting the viewer to engage with it as a window into a fleeting, refracted trace of memory.
MEDIUM & MATERIALS
These works are created using oil paint based monotype techniques on professional-grade printmaking paper. Each print is mounted onto heavyweight archival cardstock to provide structure and contrast.

Each work within this collection is 2.00 × 2.00 cm and is framed within a 11.00 × 11.00 cm shadowbox frame. The intimate scale of these works invites close, focused viewing.
EDITION & CERTIFICATION
This collection consists of 26 unique one-of-a-kind works.
Each piece is hand-signed on the back of the frame and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity including an image, detailing the title, materials, and date of creation.
FRAMING & MATTING
Each work is sold ready for installation, mounted in a 11.00 × 11.00 cm shadowbox frame. The design of the frame allows the 2.00 × 2.00 cm artwork to visually float, enhancing its presence while preserving its delicate scale. The shadowbox construction also protects the surface of the artwork and elevates its status from fragment to object.

ARTWORK CARE
To preserve the quality and longevity of the artwork keep the work out of direct sunlight to prevent color fading of the artwork over time. Additionally, keep away from high humidity or moisture to protect the support from warping. If the frame requires cleaning, use a soft, dry cloth only.
Due to the delicate and dimensional nature of the mounted artwork within its frame, the work is not intended to be reframed or opened, as this may shift or disturb the elements within.
